From Career Break to Career Trailblazer: Preeti Kumar’s Inspiring Return to Work

After an 18-year career break to raise her family, Preeti Kumar has re-entered the workforce with purpose.

A commerce graduate from Calcutta University in 1995, Preeti moved to Australia with her husband and two children, eager to find new opportunities.

That opportunity came in the form of Salesforce and Blaze Your Trail.

Since joining Blaze Your Trail in April 2023, Preeti has volunteered more than 700 hours across various nonprofit projects, earning her Salesforce Administrator certification and an incredible seven additional Salesforce certifications.

Preeti is now working as a Salesforce Administrator at Good Things Foundation Australia — and already thriving in her new role.

“I never imagined I would step into the world of Salesforce. After such a long career break, I doubted my ability to learn new technology and re-enter the workforce,” says Preeti.

“But at Blaze Your Trail — through Jessica’s inspiring leadership and the constant support of Ann Tejadilla and my peers — reignited my passion for learning and gave me the confidence to pursue a new path.”

Through real-world experience on pro-bono projects, Preeti not only deepened her technical skills but built the confidence to succeed in a professional environment.

“I am so grateful to have been part of Blaze Your Trail. Jessica’s mentorship helped me rediscover my potential and believe in myself again. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her guidance.”
