Amardeep Kaur started working in 2006 as technical support FOR IBM in New Delhi, utilising her Bachelors in Computers and Art from Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. After leaving IBM, she became a senior support technician for Dell Technologies International.
In 2011 Amardeep moved to Melbourne and worked for a company called Smart Business Telecom as a team leader - overseeing call centre staff in India and Australia.
She then moved to Telstra, working first as a billing analyst and then as a reporting analyst. Sadly, she was made redundant in November 2020. Amardeep loved working at Telstra and says that she would happily work there again.
In 2021 she was temporarily employed as a field manager with the Australian Census but she decided to try to build her skills and find a way to get into the Salesforce ecosystem.
Amardeep also has the admirable long-term goal of gaining enough experience in a field that will help her establish a business to pass onto her daughter when she grows up.
With this goal in mind, Amardeep decided to join Blaze Your Trail in August 2021 to gain experience in Salesforce, and to give back to her community. She is always happy to volunteer her time and skills for the good of others.
Amardeep regularly joined the 6am classes on weekdays, gaining real experience with charities who benefit from the expertise of volunteers at Blaze Your Trail. Educational consultant, saasguru, also offered her a place on their learning platform, with their volunteer gurus offering weekly mentoring sessions.
In just three short months, Amardeep gained her Salesforce Administrator certification and was offered a job as an Associate Consultant at Contrivers.
Amardeep said “Attending the class every day has really helped me understand the basics of Salesforce and motivated me to dedicate more time to learning. Without your help, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to get this job. Thank you!”
Amardeep proves that with a positive attitude, and a commitment to learning, anyone can create a new opportunity for themselves.
